Temp 56 F Water Temp 64 F
Today at the lake it was grey, so there were not tons of people at the park.
We had a record turnout today: seven lake witches!!!!! I have been trying to get a regular gig with other women swimmers for two years. Finally!
One woman could only stay a few minutes, one was a beginner, and another one had not done this in a long time. So once we chatted a bit we all got in together before heading in our own directions.
The water was still kinda of hazy, but I could see the bottom in the deep water. I really prefer being able to see the sand at the bottom, even if there are icky yellowed milfoil stalks from last summer.
The More, the Merrier
No sun today, so no sunbeam tunnel meditation. Instead I kept pulling up and looking around to see the other lake witches. Made me so happy to see everyone doing their thing. I swam to the cement dock and went under it, something a few of the swimmers were curious to see. I thought everyone did that!
As I was getting in today I saw a little dead fish on the lake bottom. Bummer. Then when I was in the deep water, past the cement dock, I saw five or six little fish swim by under me. Not close enough to touch. I like that they kept their distance. Didn’t freak me out at all because they were maybe five inches long. Plus, I am sooooo used to the lake now.
I was so excited to have a group today that I forgot to take a photo and video of the lake. Next time.
Everyone got out after 20 minutes except two of us, and we swam for another 10. It was drizzle raining by the time we got out. Really happy people showed up w/o the sun. I almost like the park more when it’s not sunny because then it’s not crowded. Today there were little clusters of people having picnics and cookouts. A few walkers. Some walkers with dogs.
And us. The lake witches. We totes got our witch on today.
Thank you, lake.
(Too excited to do my photo and video today, so the photo is just from a random park outing.)
