Sometimes I Fall on my Butt

Today, I swam in my lake. It’s a huge lake. I look south and see Mt. Rainier. I look north and see other mountains in the Cascade Range, and I see hot air balloons.

I am blissfully happy as I breast stroke through the lake (bum shoulder=can’t do crawl), my orange float bag trailing behind me. The ducks – there are a lot of them – sit and rest on the pebble beach.

I go when all the families have left and the teens are gathering in little clusters to talk, flirt, eat edibles, etc. There is always a big party up on the hill.

It’s really hard to get out of the lake cause the lake bed is covered in all types and sizes of rocks that shift under my feet, and having a bum leg means my balance sucks. Sometimes I have to sit in the water and push myself out a bit, then try to stand and walk in again. A nice young man tried to help me once, but I outweighed him buy a lot. Sometimes I fall on my butt and just roll onto the beach. Whatever. Being in the water is perfect.

This is the best thing I do in my life.
